Deal With Your Idols

Many of you know I have carried the word about judgement coming to the earth for about a year now and this prophetic utterance is tied to that. This isn’t a word of accusation or to bring condemnation but a word of urgency to check your heart before that time arrives. 

I have felt the Lord impress this phrase on my heart as a word for us all in the last recent days. DEAL WITH YOUR IDOLS. 

As I leaned in I heard the Lord speak

“Oh my people look at how far you have come. Not very far at all.
For many are seeking wisdom and knowledge in all the wrong places. You say you love me but you don’t pray. You seek to get things from Me but in reality you don’t acknowledge Me.
My people turn from your idols. Do not worship or place hope on what is unseen on things you have made idols for yourselves. Turn.
The countless times I have watched your hearts grow cold towards Me. Do you not know that I judge the living and the dead. (2 Timothy 4:1-2)
It is time to repent and turn from your idols, for I have watched time and time again your hearts turned to wicked things. 

It is time to turn to Me” 

We are in times where the Lord is beckoning us, asking us to have a heart check before Him to surrender to the Holy Spirit and ask if there is anything in us that we are putting above God because He is bringing judgement and He is a Just Judge and His Word must execute what He speaks. 

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;

And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalms 129:23-24 (NKJV)

He honours His Word, He must act upon that which He has spoken. He can not and won’t go against what He speaks. (Isaiah 55:11) 

An idol is anything that we worship with our words, our actions and lives.
Anything that we put above God. 

This could be our very own lives, careers, money, social media, status, family, even our own strength just as God answered to the prophet Habakkuk about the nations. 

“Then they sweep past like the wind and go on- guilty people, whose own strength is their god.” - Habakkuk 1:11

In Exodus it states very clearly that we must not have any idols of any kind and should only worship Him, Yahweh. 

“You shall have no other gods before me” - Exodus 20:3

It is imperative that we adhere to this quickening by the Holy Spirit. It is a warning to set your hearts on God alone because He is worthy of all our love, attention and adoration. 

And as we do we are being realigned again back to His Will, His Way, His original intent for us to live a life of abundance and to completely know the joy of our salvation that is found in Him, we are being placed in that place of Psalm 91. 

“Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God” - 2 Corinthians 7:1 

“Now then,” said Joshua, “throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.” Joshua 24:23 

Father I pray that as we seek your heart in repentance you would reveal the idols we have placed before you knowingly and unknowingly and may we turn from it and turn to you. Help us to put you first in our lives in everything that we do and make our hearts clean and pure before you in Jesus Name, Amen.
